Two Tickets to Poland: Tito John Carle & Bob Frias Win ADCC Trials

There are moments in this sport that remind us exactly why we love jiu-jitsu. Watching Tito John Carle and Bob Frias earn their places at the 2026 ADCC World Championships is certainly one of them.

Two athletes. Two different Trials events. Two incredible journeys — and now both are heading to Kraków, Poland, to compete on one of the biggest stages in submission grappling.

Tito John Carle — Punching His Ticket in Thailand

Tito secured his place at ADCC Worlds by winning the +99kg division at the first Asia & Oceania Trials in Bangkok. It wasn't an easy road. He had to battle through three tough matches, winning one on points and finishing two by submission.

In the final, Tito faced Mansur Makhmakhanov and finished the job with an armbar to officially punch his ticket to Poland.

Anyone who has watched Tito compete knows how unique he is for a heavyweight. His athleticism, movement and willingness to attack make him exciting to watch, but what makes this achievement even more special is knowing the journey behind it.

Tito has faced his share of adversity away from competition, including working his way back from a serious back injury. To see where he is now — winning the IBJJF European Championship earlier this year and earning his place at ADCC Worlds — makes this chapter of his career even more meaningful.

Bob Frias — Getting It Done on Home Soil

Then came Bob Frias.

At the second Asia & Oceania Trials on the Gold Coast, Bob entered the stacked -88kg professional division knowing exactly what was on the line.

His path included matches against Wade Smith, Deacon Laugher, Jess Smith and James Watson before meeting Lucas Kanard in the final.

The final presented a serious challenge. Kanard had been tearing through the bracket with an incredibly dangerous attacking game, but Bob stayed composed and imposed his own style. After a hard-fought battle, Bob earned the judges' decision and secured the -88kg Trials title.

With that victory, Bob officially booked his place at the 2026 ADCC World Championships.

For us, it was another reminder of what makes Bob such a special competitor. He is tough, experienced and incredibly difficult to break. When the pressure rises, Bob seems to find another gear.

From the Trials to the Biggest Stage

Winning an ADCC Trials division is an achievement in itself. There are no shortcuts. You have to show up, navigate the bracket and perform when everything is on the line.

Tito did exactly that in Bangkok.

Bob did it months later on the Gold Coast.

And now the destination is the same.

Kraków, Poland.

The 2026 ADCC World Championships take place September 12–13 at Tauron Arena, where Tito will enter the +99kg division and Bob the -88kg division.

They'll be stepping onto the mats against some of the best grapplers on the planet, and we couldn't be more excited to see what they can do.
